Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the LORD, your God. For gracious and merciful is He, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and relenting in punishment. — Joel 2:13
The pilgrimage is for reparation for the years you and I outrightly rejected God through:
- Fornication
- Adultery
- Using condoms, i.e, taking God’s children and throwing them in a dustbin without batting an eyelid
- Buying for partners and taking e-pills and all forms of family planning, rejecting the gift of life
- Taking part in abortion either as the abortee, a sponsor, an adviser, etc. Whether we knew the intensity of the sin or not, it’s still murder.
- Masturbation and pornography
- Homosexual acts
- Cohabitation
- Prostitution
- Immodest dress, exposing the temple of the Lord & deliberately/unconsciously leading others to sexual sins
- Rejecting your own child
- Breaking marriage promises made in relationships
Yes, many of us have confessed these sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. But this pilgrimage is an invitation to take a step further — to make reparation, to walk the way of the Cross with Christ, and to plead for mercy with contrite hearts.
